Jimmy Wisinski US Golf Business

Jimmy Wisinski, Director of Instruction at Kent Country Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has earned the prestigious PGA Master Professional designation, the highest educational achievement within the PGA of America.

Wisinski becomes just the 453rd PGA Member to attain Master Professional status among more than 30,000 PGA of America Golf Professionals nationwide. He achieved this elite designation in the Teaching and Coaching specialty.

“I’m happiest when I’m helping people play better golf,” said Wisinski during a ceremony at the Home of the PGA of America in Frisco, Texas. “I have an endless curiosity to learn as much as I possibly can about teaching the game, knowing that it’s going to help others improve too. It’s an honor to now be part of this select group of PGA Master Professionals.”

Established in 1969, the PGA Master Professional program recognizes members who demonstrate exceptional professional development and maintain the highest standards of excellence. Eligibility requires at least 10 years of PGA membership and advanced certification through PGA Specialized and Certified Professional Programs.

Wisinski’s golf journey began early—his parents, Jim and Trudy, opened Tee-2-Green Golf Shop in Grand Rapids when he was just one year old. The family business, now operating for over 41 years, was where Wisinski learned to change golf club grips by age eight.

After competing for the University of Michigan golf team and graduating in 2006 with a degree in sports management and communication, Wisinski joined the PGA Professional Golf Management Program. He worked at several Grand Rapids area facilities before becoming Director of Instruction at Kent Country Club in 2020.

A four-time Michigan Section PGA award winner, Wisinski recently earned both the 2025 Michigan PGA Teacher & Coach of the Year and Professional Development awards. He was also named to Golf Digest’s “Best Teachers in Every State” list for Michigan for 2024-25.

With over two decades of instructional experience, Wisinski incorporates cutting-edge technology including TrackMan and Sportsbox AI 3D in his teaching approach. He holds certifications from the Titleist Performance Institute, Sportsbox AI and GolfForever.

Wisinski lives in Grand Rapids with his wife Jolene and their two children.
